Staying with us,he has learned to adapt over the last month to a normal household schedule well, learning that things are calm & not constant excitement during the weekday. He loves mealtimes & has very quickly learned the word "hungry".It's adorable to watch his head tilt as he concentrates on what you're saying. He is very clever and likes to learn tricks that include agility and/or lots of sniffing. He has learned quicky that a quick, energetic "Thank you" means he needs to disengage play with our doggo & head over to his bed for a quick rest.He also knows now that his paws get wiped every time he goes out into the garden & back into the house,so he will patiently wait while this is done. What a good boy!
He is wonderful on the lead but being in new surroundings means that there are so many interesting distractions,so we are working on his recall off lead & he is showing great promise-thankfully, he loves treats!Goose is wonderful with all other dogs, mostly just wanting to play & only needing a bit of encouragement to disengage from the most exciting doggy play situations.
Goose also travels well in a car. He's been on a 4 hour journey to adventure in the New Forest & it's very sweet to see his little head pop up to watch the world go by!
He would be a wonderful addition to any household looking for an ever-curious, attentive, clever, loving boy.He just needs time & attention while settling in & will flourish further with more training,to keep his brain engaged. He is brilliant in the house & loves his crate, for naps & breaks. We think he could live with large dog savvy, older teens who are used to large bouncy dogs.Potentially another dog friend and 5-6ft Secure Garden
- I know how to sit (and lots of commands too!)
- I can be left alone for short periods
- I could live with children of secondary school age

- I may be able to live with another dog

Princess Margerhita

Breed: Caine Corso (Italian Mastiff) Cross
Species: Dog
Size: Large
Gender: Female
Color: Black
Age: 2 years 5 months
Date of Birth: July 18, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield

Princess sadly came to us after she was found abandoned, tied up behind some buildings with a painful eye condition, since then we have learned it is not her first time in rescue but sadly most of her life has been spent in rescue.
Princess recovered well and has been a staff favourite at our centre with her loveable nature, her non stop kisses and her eagerness to please! Whether you just want to chill, go for a long calm walk or curl up and watch a movie princess is just happy to spend her day with you.
Princess does have nervous tendencies given her past and being a Corso mix this is normal but something she happily tries to work through with her people for some yummy treats!
Princess’ ideal family
- Princess can live with older teens (she’s a bouncy girl!)
- Can live with other dogs (She can be a bit rude when playing so a confident dog that can correct her)
- Willing to continue her training
- Confident with young silly, bouncy dogs
- Ideally experience with Guardian breed dogs
-Secure 5-6ft Garden
- I can't be left alone
- You`ll need to take me to training classes
- I`d prefer not to live with a cat
- I may be able to live with another dog
- I`m a gentle giant(big and strong)
- I could live with children of secondary school age
Belle

Breed: German Shepherd Dog (Alsatian)
Species: Dog
Size: Large
Gender: Female
Color: Black and Brown
Age: 2 years 3 months
Date of Birth: August 26, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield

Belle is an amazing pooch who has already been through so much in her short life and sadly has spent a lot of time in kennels after having a lack of socialisation in her life before coming to us. For this reason, we are looking for a family that has had experience owning/working with working breed dogs and/or reactive large breed dogs. They must also be willing to work with and understand Belle and her nervous nature.
We have been working alongside a behaviourist with Belle and she is doing amazingly well – so her new family will need to keep up her plan and continue this in the new home. Things like continuing to use her ‘Mat’ when in the home or out around scary things, her 1,2,3 loose lead walking and her engage/disengage routines.
Belle can be unsure of new people and situations and so we need a home that will allow Belle to live life at her pace without added pressures and teach her how fun life can be but in a way that she is comfortable with. This could include things like, Scent Work or Tracking sports, lots of confidence building and brain games at home before going on adventures at quieter times of the day and building on that – we are happy to offer any adopters additional behavioural support with this so for that reason we are looking for a home for Belle that is local to our rehoming centre.
We know that Belle needs an adult only, low traffic household as people coming and going can upset her and a home without other pets while she needs her additional support. She is very shepherd vocal about certain situations, and this can include dogs but every day we are supporting her and this is getting better.
Once she is comfy Belle is your typical chatty, loving and loyal shepherd! She will make someone an amazing addition to their family!
For more information or to register an interest in Belle please email us on customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - and we will happily talk to any potential matching families.

Tucker

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Species: Cat
Size:
Gender: Male
Color: Black and White
"Tucker is a sock stealing, blanket hogging, washing machine watching, tumble dryer hijacking, leg chasing, spring flinging cuddle bug! Tuck has grown a little with us physically and mentally - he was a thin and subdued little cat on arrival and now he has enough personality and confidence to take on the world. Firstly, he is extremely affectionate and sweet - when he wants to he will snooze for hours on your chest or under a blanket tucked into your legs! But there is a big emphasis on when he wants to! His brain is constantly on the go and he is still learning about life and the world... and when is appropriate you use teeth and claws and when not. He can get overstimulated and does chase and pounce at us, we manage this by ensuring he has plenty of things to do (he will move into his new home with a rather large amount of his own belongings!) and ensuring we have a good balance of suitable play for him. We do think once he is settled and old enough to go outside his cheeky behaviour will calm down as he is a natural hunter! But he will likely always have an edge to him! He is a lovely little companion and if we could we would definitely have kept him!"
Tucker does have something called juvenile gingivitis, at the advice of a dental vet we and our vet gave him chance to grow and did some initial dental work but he will have this for life and so will require an oral health diet and monitoring. As he get older he may require more dental work so his new adopters need to be prepared for that too.
Due to his sharp and pointy nature a home with cat experienced secondary school age children and over is best, pending careful introductions and personality matches we think he could live with cats and dogs.
*He does have an outstanding appointment for his 2nd vacc that he will need to return for*
- I could live with children of secondary school age
- I may be able to live with a friendly cat
- I need to be able to go outside and explore
- I`m full of energy and love to play
- I may be able to live with friendly dog

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Date of Birth: May 3, 2017
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: RSPCA Sheffield

Since arrival Mandy has been a delight to care for! She walked right in and owned her space making friends with anyone and everyone she could! She is a fussy and friendly girl who loved a chat and that really enjoys her human company and will make a lovely companion for a lucky family.
Miss Mandy can be opinionated in certain situations, like when seeing the vet or if she doesn't want to do what you are asking her to, and isn't afraid to let you know how she's feeling with the odd hiss or swipe - cheeky girl! These outbursts are few and far between and are all around restraint or if she feels confined or restricted in anyway and because of this we think she would be better suited to a home with secondary school age children and over but we may consider younger depending on experience.
As Many heads into her golden oldie era she really deserves to be relaxing with her paws up! Could that be with you? To apply for Mandy please send us over a completed application form - we can't process your application without.
- I could live with children of secondary school age
- I`d prefer not to live with a cat

Mary

Breed: Chow Chow
Species: Dog
Size: Small
Gender: Female
Color: Black
Here is what her foster family have to say about her” We were worried that as a chow chow she’d take some work to warm up to us, but after 48hrs of settling in she became a completely different character, she’s a really sweet and affectionate girl! She loves a cuddle and gives very nice kisses. She’s completely unfazed by household things and likes to snooze most of the time. Her favourite perch is on the stairs where she can people watch through the window or snoring on her bed by the radiator. She’s slowly becoming a more frequent visitor to the sofa for a cuddle and slept for 30 minutes while being brushed! She’s still a bit weary of the bath but with cream cheese and peanut butter she copes just fine. She’s only been left once so far but didn’t cause any trouble and gave us a lovely greeting when we came home. She’s super food motivated and very eager to please upon presentation of her dinner! However we have bought her a slow feeder as she gets a bit too excited for her food .She walks nicely on a lead and is no trouble at all when out, but is a typical chow chow and can be a bit stubborn if she finds somewhere she particularly wants to go! But don’t let her regal vibes fool you… she’s a total softie at heart and we have found that she can be such a snuggle bum... when she wants! She loves being loved bless her! Cuddles, gentle chats, and being told she’s the prettiest girl (because she is)
Here she has made a fair few dog friends and is happy to spend her time with them, so we feel aslong as the personalities match up Mary could live with another dog. Her ideal home is one with secondary school age and over children to better understand her nature.
It is very important that people have experienced or researched her breed before applying - her personality and health issues are common of chows so we need people that understand this and will support Mary with everything she needs.
- I may be able to live with another dog
- I could live with children of secondary school age
- I walk nicely on a lead
- I`m quiet but full of love
- I`d prefer not to live with a cat
- I can be left alone for short periods
Dahlia

Breed: Persian
Species: Cat
Size: Medium

Color: White
Age: 7 years 0 months
Date of Birth: December 1, 2018
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: RSPCA Sheffield

Dahlia will need a family experienced with the breed who can carry on the essential work we have been doing around grooming and positive experiences with it. We have had to have her shaved down and start again to make this process pain free and doable while managing her coat. She does also have the commons of needing an eye bathe and having to have a hydrolysed diet of hills I/D to help her body break down food and hold the nutrients correctly - all common Persian things!
Dahlia - D is our queen who does have a sassy streak! She is quite an aloof character and any physical interactions are always when she instigates them - as she isn't afraid to tell you off with a hiss or swipe when she doesn't want it! But she is more than happy being with humans and accompanying them but just not necessarily a lap cat.
Dahlia came to us with limited information about her back ground but has blossomed into a wonderful little diva! And her new family will be entertained daily by her! D can be easily spooked by new people and situations so a patient and understanding home with no additional pressure is a must. Breed experience is also needed and any children be cat experienced and secondary school age and over. No other pets is best to so Dahlia can relax. She was living with her sister Fuzz but we have had to separate them now due to Fuzz bullying poor Dahlia. They do still play together and we would contemplate a home together for the right family who know how to spot the signs of needing space apart and when Fuzz has had her grooming work done. But Dahlia is quite enjoying her own space and resources.

The way Chanterelle has been treated has understandably left some mental scars on her. She can be easily spooked and at first found new people and situations daunting. She doesn't like to be confined too. Our poor girl has seen the worst of humanity so we can't blame her for being more cautious than other cats.
However, once this little lady has a relationship with you and trusts you all of her worries and fears just melt away. She adores having a fuss and will happily come and give you plenty of headbumps and purrs. We honestly feel that now she knows she is safe and loved, it is time to have her move into her forever home and continue her learning and socialising with an understanding and experienced family that won't add any pressures to her. We think a home where she is the only pet and where any children are older and nervous cat experienced is best so they can also support our little lady through her worries and troubles.
We know our girl has so much love to give and so much more personality to shine through - could you be the one that gives Chanterelle the home and love she deserves after her ordeal?

The way Amanita has been treated has understandably left some mental scars on her. She is very unsure of new people and things and can be very easily spooked. She doesn't like to be confined and will always take the slow and steady approach to try and suss you out first. Our poor girl has seen the worst of humanity so we can't blame her for being more cautious than other cats.
However, once this little lady has a relationship with you and trusts you all of her worries and fears just melt away. She adores having a fuss and will happily come and give you plenty of headbumps and purrs. We think a home where she is the only pet and where any children are older and nervous cat experienced is best so they can also support our little lady through her worries and troubles.
Aminita will need monitoring as she transitions into a home as although nothing physical can be diagnosed she does at times have a funny gait so we will be placing her on a two week foster to adopt initally so we can support her new family if giving her more space amplifies this.
We know our girl has so much love to give and so much more personality to shine through - could you be the one that gives Amanita the home and love she deserves after her ordeal?

Age: 1 years 9 months
Date of Birth: February 24, 2024
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: RSPCA Sheffield

We have someone for you to meet, say hello to our beautiful young Collie Max.
This clever, sensitive soul is everything you'd expect from a collie — intelligent, loyal, and full of potential. But the noisy, stressful kennel environment is overwhelming for him, and he’s finding it hard to relax or show his true personality. We keep seeing glimpses but we know that he has so much more to give!
Max has previously lived with children and other dogs but whilst with us he has been a little picky with his friends so we feel its best for him right now to go to a home where he can be the only pet and children are late teens and have experience with working line collie types. This way he can get all the love and support he craves without haveing to share his people.
What he really needs now is a calm, loving foster-to-adopt home where he can decompress, build trust, and start to thrive. If you’re a collie lover who understands the breed’s quirks and brilliance — and you have the time, patience, and heart to help a young dog blossom —then Max is the boy for you. He’s ready to bond deeply with his person and will reward you with endless love and loyalty as that's just the collie way!
His ideal home is:
✅ Quiet home with collie experience and adults/late teens, who will be around to help him settle and learn its ok to be alone
✅ Needs time to settle and feel safe
✅Secure garden 5-6ft
✅A home with someone wanting and willing to do agility or flyball or beed specific enrichment to forfill both his needs and life. He would do well with a regular job/actiivity to use both brain and physical.
✅Would benefit from gentle guidance and breed specific enrichment
❎️No dogs or cats in the home - Max very much needs one on one support without the pressures of other animals.
✅Must have had experience of training and owning working collie line dogs before - he is not a first time dog owner pooch.
- I would prefer not to live with a dog
- I`d love to learn agility or fly ball
- I need teaching that its ok to be left alone
- I`d prefer to be the only animal in a home
- I`d prefer not to live with a cat

Rufus

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Color: Ginger
Age: 2 years 1 months
Date of Birth: November 19, 2023
Agency: RSPCA Sheffield
Email: RSPCA Sheffield

His beauty is undeniable, but what truly makes him special is his quiet courage. Life hasn’t given Rufus many chances to shine—he hasn’t met many people, and his world so far has been very small. Because of this, he’s incredibly nervous, and new experiences can feel overwhelming for him
But here’s the thing: behind that cautious exterior is a cat who wants to trust, who wants to feel safe, and who is bravely taking small steps every day toward that goal. Rufus is not aggressive or difficult... he’s simply shy and unsure, and he needs someone who understands that trust takes time.
What Rufus Needs: - A calm, patient home where he won’t be rushed or pressured - Someone who can offer him space to settle at his own pace- A family that celebrates small victories... because for Rufus, every tiny step forward is a triumph. He’s not the cat who will instantly curl up in your lap. But if you give him the gift of time and kindness, you’ll see him blossom. The first time he approaches you for a gentle head rub, the first time he plays with a toy, the first time he purrs... those moments will mean the world, because they’ll be hard-earned and full of trust. He’s brave in his own quiet way, and he deserves a home that sees that. With the right person, Rufus will learn that the world isn’t so scary after all.
If you have a peaceful home and a big heart, Rufus could be your perfect match. He’s waiting for someone who believes in second chances and understands that the most rewarding bonds are the ones built slowly, with love.
If you would like to apply for Rufus please send us over a completed application form to customerservices@rspcasheffield.org - we can't process your form without.

The girls came to us after a change in their owners circumstances meant they couldn't stay where they were. Upon arrival the girls were a little overwhelmed and unsure - moving into the cattery can be a big thing! Especially for cats like these girls who are a little more sensitive. Fast forward a few weeks and they have settled a little and started to show us their full personalities.
Both girls are now showing us a more affectionate and interactive side of them. Both coming to their carers for fusses and head bumps and wanting to spend time with and around us - some days they are very enthusiastic about affection and fuss and others they aren't. Mira is slightly more confident and forward coming but both girls do like their independence - all interactions are as and when they want them, otherwise they are happy going off exploring together or just sitting with you to keep you company. Both ladies love their treat toys and Rya enjoys a play session with her fishing rod toy.
Rya and Mira are a lovely blend of independence and company for someone and we can't wait to see them on their forever sofa, is that with you?
*The girls will need to return to the centre for their second vaccination so any families interested must be willing to return here for that appointment*

Gomez is THE biggest fuss pot, snuggler, cuddle bug ever! He is a slow guy initally but usually within minutes he is rolling on his back or on your lap demanding some attention and fuss! He very quickly became a favourite for the cattery team due to his calm but affectionate nature. He does also enjoy a good chat with his friends and as you can see has the most beautiful chonky face!
Gomez is looking for a home that is comfortable with his initially shy demeanour, a family that are happy to support him without additional pressure as he moves in is the ideal for him as we know he may find this more stressful than a more overall confident cat. A home where children are secondary school age and over to better understand when he needs his quiet time are best but we may consider younger depending on cat experience.
Due to him having an outstanding neuter operation in a few weeks (9th of December) Gomez can't move out just yet but we wanted to start the hunt for his family and they can spend some time visiting and getting to know him here!
Do you have space for him on your sofa?

Lucky is a mix breed pooch but we do know that his most dominant breed is pointer. We believe him to be a pointer lab mix - so a very goofy and extremely clever boy! Lucky is larger than life in size and personality! He is a very lanky boy who potentially still has some growing to do - with love, we compared him to a small donkey! And he also has the personality to match! He is very out there, very bouncy and very silly! He has the pointer stare down to a T! And is quite intense with his carers so experience of pointers really would be beneficial to better read and understand our Lucky boy!
He enjoys training and learning and is very food driven which will help his new family a lot with supporting him. While here he has made it clear he doesn't like being left by vocalising and at times spinning so his new family must be clued up on separation anxiety and willing to help and support Lucky with this. While here he has met other dogs and also uses his voice in these situations too! He can eventually walk calmly at a distance with dogs but this will also be a working progress for Lucky - from the way he is, it seems to us he may have missed out on vital socialising as a baby so his new family will have a big adult dog with a puppys outlook on how to interact and be around dogs.
Lucky will be a little work when he moves in, we know this. But with what he has been through and the resilience he has shown we know he will be such an amazing addition to the right family who will support, forgive and allow him to be his true self! Through things like breed specific enrichment and fun activities that don't just include walks.
If you would like to offer Lucky a home, please send us over a completed application form we can't process your interest without.

Since arriving he has been nothing but a joy - constantly wiggling his fluffy bottom and just been a happy little fella to everyone he meets, including the canine variety and even the vets! He can sometimes take a few minutes to warm up to certain people but this is rare and even when he is nervous he really doesn’t take long before he is your best friend - a slow and steady approach goes a long way for Wally.
Wally adores to be with you and loves going on adventures. He will climb up onto your knee for fusses, cuddles and kisses! Once he is relaxed in your company he will show you his fantastic zoomies and even bring you his favourite ball. Any new family will also need to keep up with regular grooming for Wally to keep his coat mat free and healthy. We would also advise research on small poodle cross breeds, so you know what to expect from him moving forward. We think it's also worth noting this little lad is very clever and has a brain that seems to always be ticking so he may LOVE being involved with trick training and fun dog sports and enrichment, not just physical exercise!
With his friendly nature we think he will be ok to live with dog savvy secondary age children, and we would consider younger children if dog experienced. We will of course do meets to make sure everyone is comfortable.
While here Wally has made a number of dog friends and is very happy to go on potters with them. We think with the right introduction and canine that Wally could potentially live with a doggy friend. With Wally being young and sometime nervous - a confident young and playful pooch might be better for him.
Wally will make great addition to any family!
